This creates a vibrant experience in the classroom, where diverse perspectives and backgrounds add to and enhance the classroom experience.

Tracks

The Finance Department has organized its programs around particular tracks to assist MBA students in career planning. These tracks include investment analysis, corporate finance, real estate and fixed income. Faculty discussions with recruiters highlight the fact that planning your curricula around these tracks enhances your job opportunities.

You are now managing your own career and one ingredient of success is the ability to articulate a strategic plan. The department's tracks are designed to help you establish such a plan and communicate this plan with recruiters through your resume, cover letters, and interviews.

The prerequisite structure in the master's courses, where in place, is designed to facilitate the presentation of material that builds sequentially and is covered in courses over more than one semester. When you click on a course hyperlink, be sure to check for necessary pre-requisites to aid in your planning.

Dual MBA/MSF

The dual MBA/MSF program allows MBA students wishing to work in finance to obtain the additional credential of the MSF and convey to employers the depth of their financial knowledge both in finance as an important management process and in financial analysis as a specialized area of expertise. The dual degree requires completion of all MMF required coursework for the chosen track, with an additional 12 credit hours above the MBA requirements and six of credit hours for the completion of the MSF master's project. For more information, please contact Kay Ross, Director, Graduate Programs, Finance Department.

MBA Students in other concentrations

The Department recognizes that finance classes can be very beneficial to students pursuing other concentrations within the Eller MBA program. We encourage students to sample the finance courses offered. We hope that all students will have an understanding of our curriculum by reviewing these pages and choosing classes that fit their program and career interest.
