Mentoring Program
The Finance Department Advisory Board members have significant experience in working with young professionals. Through our mentoring program, Board members and MMF students will be matched, giving students the opportunity to develop a relationship with a financial professional and obtain valuable advice and insights.
The Relationship
Board members will meet with students by phone or in-person, discussing the student’s career aspirations and project interests. The mentor will provide counsel and assistance in action planning, crystallizing the student’s skill set and competitive advantages, and the student’s objectives for his or her own professional development. The mentor will serve as an active sounding board, allowing students to develop professional skills and attitudes in order to bridge the classroom and the workforce.
Benefits
Students will benefit greatly from the experience of advisory board members in seeking out opportunities in the market, fashioning a plan to realize such opportunities and taking the first steps toward becoming professionals in service to society and the Finance Department.
